Snowman Christmas Card

This is my 3rd Christmas Card that I made for a Swap that I hosted just this month...to see the other 2 cards I believe I posted them back in January or February. I just love Christmas time and making cards and it works out really well to get the swap finished by the end of October so the girls can get on with the Season.

Fun with Letters

I was inspired to fill an empty wall, The original idea, using the big R and little g, came from Better Homes & Gardens craft ideas online. I thought using my husband's name and initials along with mine would make the creation a bit more personal. I found a lot of letters in my craft stash. Hobby Lobby had a great selection of letters: wood, metal, cork and composite. I did find the Scrabble tiles and racks at an antique store in Grand Rapids MI. Turns out they're not antiques but what a great find for my project. Oh, and the Dollar Stores - what a great place to find picture frames. A little paint, a little glue, a little paper, some frames and those damage free wall hangers make this an easy project!

We received a Thank You and I just had to share because it's handmade! The flowers and polka dots just made everything so cheery. Each chocolate nugget in the tin had a digital printed sleeve with the words 'Thank You' in different languages. The tin wrapper was layered with a rectangle, scalloped edges, pleated flower, punched circle center and lots and lots of punched flowers with rhinestone centers. TO OUR DEAR FRIENDS banner was stamped and cut out.

The card itself used the flower paper and MORE punched flowers! Isn't the single brown flower the cutest?

ATC

I'm getting ready to go to Las Vegas this week on Thursday for the 4th Annual Spraguefest.  What's a Spraguefest you ask?  It's a gathering of the Jessica Sprague community.  Jessica Sprague has an online website where you can take fantastic classes online...and the community is friendly and very supportive.  Jessica teaches digi scrapbooking, photo editing, hybrid classes and teaches classes on Photoshop.  This will be my first Spraguefest...and Tony is going with me.  We are going to be trading Artist Trading Cards (ATC) and I made two versions to share with the other crafters there.  I did not make the background papers....they are from a group of papers that were supplied for one of the classes were are doing in Vegas, but I did make the halftone brush that's in the background upper left corner.  On the back of each ATC I have put my name, user ID for the Jessica Sprague website, blog address and email contacts.  CLICK TO ENLARGE PHOTO

Weekend Workshops

We enjoyed a weekend with our Michigan friends and planned an afternoon just for the ladies. One of the girls was a Stampin'Up demonstrator in another life so she had all our projects 'bagged'. These are two of my favorites; the colors are so cheery. As you can see, we stamped some birds, a branch and large flower, then punched rounds or flowers accordingly. The ruffle edged ribbon along with the stamps are from Stampin'Up. We used papers from Stampin'Up and Hot Off the Press (Paper Wishes). Teeny, weeny pearls (save some for the heart branch below) and a glittery brad were used. Don't forget to use a dimensional under the bird wing. FUN!

Camping Weekend Workshop

Look how embossing can turn a flat card into a 'wow' card Circle and scalloped punches were used for the tags. You choose the color combination.

Isn't this cute? Just trim a patterned paper into three and attach to a frame with a pretty edge.

Weekend Workshop

We embossed a frame and a cover for these two cards. Dimensional adhesives make the inside of the frame 'pop'. The matching ink made this an elegant card. The glitter heart and pearls were self adhesive.

A beautiful rose print was attached with vellum adhesive along with ribbon and a matching paper or ribbon flower to complete. It looks like a lot of work but NOT!

Bow

I went to a Stampin Up event last weekend and we made several things. Most of the time I am not that overly thrilled with some of the things that they do but we made a bow that was super easy. You can get 2 - 4 1/2 bows out of 1 sheet of 12x12 paper and two brads.

Cut 8 strips at 1" x 5 1/4 ", 4 strips at 1" x 4 " and 1 strip at 1" x 3 ".

With your crop-a-dile set the guide at 1/4" on the smallest hole at the center of both ends of all of your strips except the 3" strip.











Start with the 5 1/4 " strips, at one end put a small amount of adhesive.












Bend the strips so that the holes match, the end with the adhesive should be on the bottom. Continue till you complete with the 5 1/4 inch strips.










Begin to assemble the bow by placing the brad on the table with the prongs up. Layer them opposite until you have used all of the 5 1/4 inch strips.











Continue with the 4" strips adding them to your brad.



















Once complete, fold down the prongs of the brad.












Roll the shortest strip so the ends overlap and glue them together, then glue them to the center of the bow.



I used Crystal Effects by Stampin Up but, the Tombow multi glue with the green lids will work also.

Cards - Craft Fair

Okay, it is that time where I'm going to try my had at the craft fair again. The next weekends are the first two of seven shows. Depending on how well I do in the next two weekends will determine if I make it for all seven shows.

Here are some Halloween cards I made to sell.

Here are some Halloween treats and cards I made. These mummys are covered with ink gause on a crystal light container. The eyes are punched out using a circle punch and the mouth I cut by hand all out of cardstock. Inside are 1x8 inch bags filled with 4 pixie sticks and a decoration of cardsock at the top.

I will see how these sell and decide if I should make more for the following weekend.
