There is a photography challenge up at jessicasprague.com until May 18th, this is one of my submissions. I used my Canon Rebel T2i, and a 50mm lens with an fstop of 1.8.
In our photo challenge at jessiccasprague.com we are using a technique called slow sync flash. It's where you use a slow shutter speed...and the flash goes off toward the end of taking the photo. It gives some really cool background effect while keeping the main subject in focus. Here is a website with some neat examples. http://www.digital-photography-school.com/13-great-slow-sync-flash-images And here is my attempt at this earlier today in the late afternoon/early evening when the sun was going down. I am spinning as I am taking the picture.
Here's another picture of baby Jack. My daughter has a portable photography studio with a black backdrop that we set up and she has this cool rug we brought in from the nursery to place baby Jack on. CLICK TO ENLARGE PHOTO

I am a grandma again...this is number 2 grandson. His name is Kayden Taylor. He was born on June 1st....and is perfect in every way! I took this picture of my son holding Kayden. I added a black vignette to the outside edges to make this a square instead of a rectangle. CLICK TO ENLARGE PHOTO
