Happy Birthday Betty

Sunny and bright birthday wishes to our friend Betty! Who couldn't use something cheerful during the dreary days of winter? This 5' x 7" card was made using Bazzill solid color papers, CoreColors by coredinations and BoBunny Back to Basics Dots. I used the Cuttlebug dotted folder to add texture to the green leaves and ran an ink pad over the dots for a little more color. White stitch lines added even more interest and the buttons were just too cute to pass up. Check out the video on uTube with instructions unmaking a bow using only a fork. Really cool and you don't have to fumble making the traditional ones!

Feminine and Frilly

Happy Birthday Everyone! This is my submission to Betty's swap. There's a lot of paper cutting and I can now pleat/fold flowers in my sleep, but what girl can't resist flowers?

Without using a scoring board, the flowers took some time folding. Instead of cutting out the petals, I used a hole punch on three pleated layers at a time. Medium ZOTS work well to hold the middles together. For added insurance, I glued a 1 inch dot to the backside and used double tape to adhere to the card.

Here are the pieces for the birthday card: floral and dotted paper, green border, pleated 3 inch flower and paper ric rac trim. The greeting banner was stamped in purple ink then embossed with clear powder. Two punched flowers and a glitter brad make up the center of the pleated flower. I left the brad tabs out flat to mimic green leaves. The paper doily was inked first with a maize color, then a bamboo color ink. The ink pad itself was too heavy so I used a sponge.

The card idea and Serendipity paper pack is from Paper Wishes.

Don't forget to use extra postage when mailing.

Female Birthday Card

I am hosting a Birthday Card Swap with my local scrapbooking friends, & I signed up to make 3 sets of card, with 21 cards per set.

I love this card, it is a SCRAPLIFT from a card that SUSAN shared with me at our Suites Rally! Thanks Susan for sharing your designer cards with me and allowing me to scraplift!

Inside this card is the pull out tag that says Happy Birthday on it...but depending on what your paper and design is, this card would work for many different occasions. The outer flower of the tag was cut on the cricuit, using the Mini Monograms cartridge and poked the tiny holes around the pedles with a piercer for the added detail, the circle was made with my 2" circle punch, the fonts Curlz MT, small flower cut with the George cartridge...then I used a brad to attach...Ribbon was attached with the Tim Holtz stapler. Large flower was also cut with the George cartridge and the circle a 1/2" punch, and stickles added for detail.

I started out with an 8"x8" sheet of double sided cardstock.

Folded the paper across so that the fold is on the opposite corners & this will make the paper a triangle. (I use my Martha Stewart Scoring board to secure a straight & crisp fold).

Next I folded in each side to go across the background area. (To begin I lightly folded both sides at the same time left corner to the right side edge, and the right corner to the left side edge, making the straight edges over lap each other across the top, perfectly, & evenly, then creased the left side down,

then folding the right side over the left, then creasing down.

I turned down the top half of the paper that points up, and now you can see the contrast of the double sided paper.

Rebekah's Birthday

These bright and sparkly cards are super easy to put together for any occasion. Use the Cuttlebug Swirl folder and rhinestone word sticker or rhinestone alphabet if you have a steady hand. For the orange version I used matte paper and a pearly chalk over all. The blue version used Bazzill shimmer paper in Diamond, Sparkle and Glitz. The coolest, most festive font yet is actually called Rebekah's Birthday, free from UrbanFont. Tami Mayberry of Prism Papers showed this card in Card Maker Magazine Sept. 2008.

Happy Birthday to You

These cards have the birthday song attached on the accordion-fold front sentiment. The sentiment is printed on white card stock, then folded and adhered to and tied with ribbon. Make these for general birthday or personalize the song! Card Creations magazine showed this card in the Vol.2 2004 issue. The finished card is 4 1/2 X 6 1/2. The (free) font is DiMurphic from Urbanfont.com

This is a special year...my only child turns 35...What a blessing he has been! I had fun making his special birthday card for him...some of the pictures didn't turn out too well as I had to scan them from his Scrapbook-ed Albums! We had Troy, wife Heather and 2 of girls, Mackenzie and Kylie for his favorite meal Mexican Dinner, and his requested Banana Cream Pie! Oldests daughter Ashlea came for dessert! Fun was had by all!!!

Floral Birthday Card

I made this birthday card and the paper flowers for Tony's birthday this Sunday...the 27th of Feb.  The flower is really easy to make....I can't remember where I saw the instructions for it....I'm still looking, but if I cannot find a link to share...I'll make up instructions with pictures to share here.  The buttons are all OLD buttons that my mom cut off of clothing and coats before she discarded them.  Click to enlarge the photo.

Birthday Card

Here is a birthday card that I made on my Cricut Imagine.  I really enjoy making cards with the Imagine. This image is on the cartridge that comes with the machine.  The card was made for my daughter's mother-in-law, Jan.

Happy Birthday Card

I love the simplicity of this birthday card.  Just cut colorful strips of paper, emboss one edge, punch the background paper with the EK Success punch and place the Happy Birthday words on top!  Quick and EASY!!!

Birthday

This card was created with sueded paper and drywall, yes drywall tape. Use it plain as I did or color coordinate it with ink or markers.   I used black Dazzles from Paper Wishes for the cupcakes and dimensional dots behind the squares.  The swirls were made with Martha Stewart border punches.
