Happy Birthday!

Being inspired by Betty's cards, I decided to give
this technique a try!
The little chickie and dotted circle are from Denami Stamps

The embossed Happy Birthday background is a Cuttlebug folder.
The zig zag bottom and the butterfly are  Martha Stewart Punches.
The idea for this card came from Splitcoasters.

Hi Sue....these cards are so sweet! I love the Happy Birthday background...I have that one and never really thought of a way to use it! I'm going to have to scraplift that one! The other two are adorable too! Do you scan the stamps and then just print them...or are you stamping and coloring with something?

Cute again! The birthday card conveys a happy and comfortable feeling. The design takes me back to crisp, white, cutwork pillowcases!

How do you make those pleated flowers?

Kathy, I stamped then colored with markers.
Betty, I did scallop the edges.
Susan, I found a website that showed me how to do that. I will send you the link. I'll have to search for it.

Susan.....for the folded flowers...you can take a strip of 1 1/2 inch or 2 inch wide by 12 inch long paper. If you can fold pretty evenly...just fold the length about every 1/3 of an inch like an accordian. Or you can score the paper...and fold it back and forth. Start wrapping one end around kind of like opening a fan....and sticky tape one end to the opposite end...or use tape to tape the ends together. It should be in a flat circle...glue a button to the center.

The video I watched used a Stampin Up Scallop punch and you punched one long edge and scored where the scallops met each other. I neglected to score in that area on this flower.
