Candy Coated Pretzel Rods

My grandson's birthday party is this weekend....and I am preparing goodies for the party.  He will be 3 years old.  We are setting up a Candy Bar with all kinds of good things on it.  Today I made 1/2 of the candy coated pretzel rods that I want to make.  I got about 18 pretzel rods in today's batch, but that's only because I ran out of pretzels.  I had made some last week as a trial run, so my bag of pretzels wasn't quite full.  And I did have leftover white chocolate....so I think you could probably get at least 10 more out of one package of chips. These are made with white chocolate....and the other 1/2 I want to make tomorrow are going to be made with semi-sweet chocolate chips...and sprinkles.  You just put the chips in a double boiler....I didn't have a double boiler, so I just put water in a big pan and then put the chips in a smaller pan on top of the water.  If you try this...make sure the water isn't so high that there is a chance of it going into the smaller pan when you set the smaller pan into the bigger water filled pan. I only put a couple inches of water in the bigger pan.  Heat on low...you don't want the water boiling...just heating the water. You may need to add a very small amount....a few drops....of oil when it's melted to make it a little bit smoother....and as it starts to dry out a bit.  Then dip and roll your pretzel rods in the melted chocolate(make sure your chocolate isn't TOO thick around your pretzel) and then sprinkle with small candy sprinkles.  The pretzel bags came from Michaels in their candy section.
